Culture

Thanks to the efforts of the Austin Cultural Committee volunteers, citizens have access to culture in all of its guises. In addition to overseeing the Austin Livres-service Library, the Committee supports cultural groups and organises socio-cultural activities to promote togetherness and networking within the community.

Activities are announced in the community bulletin board of the English Home page, in the Actualités Austin Newsletter  (are you on our mailing list?) and, when feasible, in the Community Events calendars of the Brome County News and Reflet du Lac newspapers.

« Les Voix du large » Choir

You don’t need to read music or be an experienced singer. Learning is done in a pleasant, stress-free atmosphere. The only prerequisite? Wanting to sing!

Rehearsals are held on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Hall.

Cultural Saturday

The Cultural Committee and Local Heritage Council join together to promote and highlight Austin’s cultural and patrimonial treasures, under the banner of Cultural Saturday. This great event takes place every year at the end of September, as part of the Quebec Culture Days.

Passion Evenings

Spend an evening sharing one of your passions – music, travel, hobby or interest – with your fellow citizens, in a warm, friendly setting.

Some evenings may be combined with a vernissage by Austin’s Artists.
