To the rescue of our pollinator friends: a parent-child workshop

Saturday 27 June 2026

Did you know that bees, butterflies, and other pollinating insects are the superheroes of our biodiversity? Yet they desperately need our help. This summer, the City of Austin invites you to a family workshop on pollinators!

To the Rescue of Our Pollinator Friends is a fun and interactive workshop designed especially for parent-child pairs. Together, you’ll dive into the fascinating world of these little nature workers and discover their crucial role in our local ecosystem.

You’ll learn simple, practical tips to try at home to transform your own garden into a welcoming haven. A nature observation session to build hands-on knowledge. A seed bomb activity with a representative from SOSPlanète will let children get their hands dirty to understand the importance of milkweed and a native garden.

At the end of the workshop, your child will receive a certificate of participation, and you’ll have the chance to purchase a milkweed plant at a special price of $5 per plant, with proceeds benefiting Mission Monarque.

Come share a special family moment while becoming proud guardians of our natural world. Space is limited, so don’t wait to reserve your spot!

When: Saturday, June 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Where: Community Hall, 21 Millington Road, J0B 1B0
