The eclipse is almost upon us. Here’s what you need to know to enjoy this memorable day. The activities taking place before the eclipse will take place in two locations in order to welcome as many people as possible. Registration is mandatory and the only places left are in the Community Hall.
When? Monday, April 8 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Where? Carrefour d’Austin (1 Millington)

12:30 | The doors open at both sites* : The Carrefour d’Austin (1 Millington) and Community Hall (21 Millington) Beveragers and pastries. Bring your bottles for water and mugs for coffee! |
1:00 | Conference « L’observation et l’astronomie de l’éclipse solaire du 8 avril 2024 » by Denis Laurin, retired from the Canada Space Agency (live at the Carrefour and broadcasted in the Community Hall). |
1:30 (approx.) | Question period from the two locations. |
2:00 (approx.) | Activities for children in the Community Hall.
Move to the Municipal Park for observation with certified glasses and telescopes. |
* The location of your reservation will be indicated on your confirmation email after reservation.
Distribution of ISO 123312-2 certified glasses
We have 200 pairs of glasses to distribute to those who reserve. If you already have certified glasses, bring them!
What if it’s cloudy?
Even if it’s cloudy, experiencing obscurity during the day will be unique! Images of the eclipe in progress will be aired live at the Carrefour and in the Community Hall.
Limited parking available: think of carpooling or biking over
The number of parking spaces in the village is limited. Signs and volunteers will direct you toward the available spaces. Please refrain from parking on the east side of Millington Rd. and on the west side of Fisher Rd.
