COVID-19 - Measures to assist our citizens

Tuesday 31 March 2020

At a special sitting held on March 30 at 3:30 p.m., Council adopted measures to assist citizens who are affected by the governmental measures implemented to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Tax bill

Citizens who are unable to pay the first instalment of their 2020 municipal tax bill won’t incur any interest charges until May 30 2020.

Those who have already sent a cheque postdated March 30 have until April 8 to request that their cheque be held back. To do so, please contact Linda Beaudoin without delay (by email:, or by phone: 819-843-2388, ext. 227). Cheques that are not held back will be deposited on April 9.

It is important to note that interest charges are suspended solely on the first instalment of the 2020 tax bill; they do not apply to amounts in arrears from previous years, as of March 30.

Duties on the transfer of an immovable

Duties on the transfer of an immovable invoiced between March 13 and April 1 are granted a 30-day extension, interest-free.

For additional information, please contact Linda Beaudoin at the above coordinates.

These exceptional measures have been put in place to ease the financial burden of our families during this difficult time, by providing them with additional leeway until the crisis has been resolved.
